What blocks Revival and Reformation more than anything else?

In a genuine revival, when the Spirit of God convicts the conscience, the earnest, anxious inquiry will be heard, "What must I do to be saved?" . . . Heart union with Christ is a rare thing now. . . Love of pleasure and . . . personal display, have banished thoughts of God. {4SP 294.2}

When the church is converted, there will be a very great reformation in dress. {PH157 14.2}

My sisters, there is need of a dress reform among us. {2SM 473.1}

In words, in dress, in all our habits, there is seen reformation and those things that please God. Then all the world may see its influence in the transforming process. {OHC 34.3}

A plain, direct testimony is now needed, as given in the word of God, in regard to plainness of dress. {HL 119.1}

Obedience to fashion is pervading our Seventh-day Adventist churches and is doing more than any other power to separate our people from God. {4T 647.2}

By their modesty in apparel , by their Christlike words and actions, they will show that they are sons and daughters of the heavenly King. {RH, July 23, 1901 par. 5}

Should not the people of God, who are his peculiar treasure, seek even in their dress to glorify God? And should they not be examples in point of dress, and by their simple style rebuke the pride, vanity and extravagance of worldly, pleasure-loving professors? God requires this of his people. Pride is rebuked in his word. {2SM 473.3}

Those who have not moral courage to take their position conscientiously in the face of unbelievers, and leave the fashions of the world, and imitate the self-denying life of Christ, are ashamed of him, and do not love his example. {4bSG 77.4}

The words of Scripture in regard to dress should be carefully considered. We need to understand that which the Lord of heaven appreciates in even the dressing of the body. All who are in earnest in seeking for the grace of Christ will heed the precious words of instruction inspired by God. Even the style of the apparel will express the truth of the gospel. {Ev 269.1}
